discovered art and the creative process in high school. Through
the creative process I was able to express my feelings, thoughts and
emotions. Creative expression comes from a magical place deep
within our souls. I believe that everyone can has creative
expression, including elders in long-term care communities.
As an activity director I enjoyed introducing my elders to
unique creative projects. The elders enjoyed expressing their
creative spirit. After all creative spirit is not limited by
illness or age. As an artist, I created this program specifically
for activity directors to share some of my creative ideas for nursing
homes, assisted living, adult day health care and hospice care.
The Art Program is a collection of healing and creative art
projects designed specifically for elders living in long-term care.
In the program activity directors will explore color therapy, Chakras,
auras and Feng Shui concepts. The program also includes
worksheets for color and imagination art projects. Other projects
include drawing, painting, clay, dream boards, rock painting and
altered books, just to name a few. Activity Directors will have a
whole year of innovative art sessions, shopping list and templates
right at their finger tips.
